“The Burglar”

The dynamic collaborative studio project Toyesauce announces their latest single, "The Burglar," set to release on February 14th, 2025. This gritty instrumental track delivers a funk-driven soundscape punctuated with rock elements and innovative time signatures, integrating the rich musical heritages of Austin, New Orleans, and Nashville.

Written by Kevin McKinney of the legendary Austin band Soulhat, "The Burglar" exemplifies the creative vision of project leader Leon Toye, showcasing the dynamic intersection of these influential music cities. The track brings together a cross-regional lineup featuring Austin's Kevin McKinney and Nashville's Leon Toye on electric guitars, Nashville bassist Kenny Jackson, and New Orleans drummer Terrence Houston (George Porter Jr. Trio). The track's dynamic production was spearheaded by Toye, with veteran mixing and mastering by New Orleans' Eric Heigle and Nashville's Tommy Dorcey.
